She is the only one Yano can rely on during his times of hardships. She could not bring herself to confess her love for Yano. She had grown feelings for Yano even though Aki-chan knows that Yano loves Nanami, and he just sees her as a friend. She became Yano's classmate when he transferred school in Tokyo from Hokkaido leaving Nanami behind. Her character does not appear in the anime at all. Therefore, she does not see Nanami Takahashi as a rival and she is the one who reveals Yano's whereabouts to Nanami that she is shown to have a hard time dealing with the whole story - she confesses at one point that she would be unable to wait for someone as long as Nanami did.
Akiko "Aki" Sengenji (千見寺 亜希子 Sengenji Akiko) is Motoharu Yano's former classmate from Tokyo who is also in love with him, but she is well aware of the fact that he only sees her as a friend.
